If you\u2019re one of the many Albertans without a family doctor, you\u2019ve come to the right place. Here\u2019s how to find a family doctor in Alberta and where to turn for care while you wait.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to get a family doctor in Alberta<\/b><\/h4>\n

H<\/span>aving a family doctor is foundational for good health.<\/span> Unfortunately, a shortage of primary care doctors in Canada has left <\/span>millions without the care they need<\/span><\/a>. As a result, provincial health organizations have put together registries where citizens can sign up to wait for a doctor.<\/span><\/p>\n

The situation in Alberta is a little different. Instead of a provincially-run waitlist, Albertans are encouraged to look for a family doctor independently using the <\/span>albertafindadoctor.ca<\/span><\/a> site. So, whether you\u2019re trying to figure out <\/span>how to find a family doctor in Calgary<\/span>, <\/span>Edmonton,<\/span> or the rest of the province, that\u2019s where you\u2019ll want to begin your search.<\/span><\/p>\n
